Diary: CCLT launch meeting on 13 March reinstated
The Chilbolton Community Land Trust meeting postponed yesterday has been reinstated. It will take place at 7pm on Thursday 13 March.
Martin Gossling, Secretary of Chilbolton Community Land Trust, has announced what the agenda will be.
He said:
A public meeting has been arranged in the Chilbolton Village Hall on Thursday 13th March at 7pm, to launch the Chilbolton Community Land Trust (CCLT). The aim of this meeting will be to confirm what has been set up and what now needs to happen to take the CCLT forward. At this point in time, from a land acquisition or planning application point of view, nothing has happened.
The meeting is to discuss the formal set up of the CCLT so that it is in a position to consider, for instance, ways in which it can collaborate with the CPC to deliver affordable housing in the village. The meeting should last no longer than 60 mins, subject to the number of questions raised, and the agenda will cover:
- A basic introduction and review of what has been set up so far
- What governs the minimum set of legal rules that will apply from day one.
- Key next steps including the recruitment of new Trustees with a focus on agreeing the initial mandate and terms of operation of the CLT. This will include a review of the CCLT’s initial mandate i.e. just what type of housing could it legally cover?
- Key roles needed to help take the CCLT forward
- Membership of the CCLT. This is different to Trustees
- How the CCLT will look to work with the CPC on acquiring land, determining just what needs to be built and fund raising
- Trustees will need to be appointed from the community and anyone who is interested in becoming a Trustee should email the parish clerk with a brief outline of their personal details, email, address and contact phone number along with an indication as to how long they have lived in the village. As this is a legal position, formal checks will need to be carried out the same as if you were applying to become a director of a company
