The Abbots Mitre, Chilbolton’s only public house, has been listed for sale at £900,000.

Simon Finch, Director of Planning and Development at Test Valley Borough Council, has responded to the questions Cllr David Hall, Chair of Chilbolton Parish Council, asked back in the middle of May.

At a public meeting in the Village Hall, attended by over 70 residents, Chilbolton Parish Council’s Community Development Committee outlined options for housing development in the Village that will be put to a public vote.

Chilbolton’s Community Development Committee focussed on two matters: the ongoing discussions with Chilbolton Community Land Trust about how they work together, and the upcoming Village meeting on Saturday 27 Jun 2026.

Chilbolton Parish Council will hold a meeting on Saturday 27 Jun 2026 between 10:00am and 12:00pm at the Village Hall, to review all current development proposals in the Village and present their plans for a 20-home development at Gravel Hill.

The Parish Council aims to put proposals to residents in a referendum or vote during the summer.
