Gravel Hill

The Gravel Hill site is being considered for development of up to 20 homes to support Chilbolton’s Neighbourhood Development plan. It is a piece of land owned by the Church Commissioners lying near the junction of Gravel Hill and Martins Lane

At the CDC meeting last night we learned how quickly they are moving on a potential development at Gravel Hill.

We also learned what a protected view is.

At the Community Development Committee last night, Cllr David Hall revealed that the Church Commissioners are actively investigating land at the corner of Gravel Hill and Martins Lane for the development of 10 to 12 affordable homes.

The illusion that Chilbolton had successfully established a Community Development Committee, that would oversee the planning and building of new homes in the village, was blown apart yesterday evening at the Parish Council meeting.

After the terms of reference for CDC were materially changed in a split Parish Council vote, Cllr David Hall said that he would have to resign as CDC’s Chair.

Church Commissioners are investigating land in the corner of the field near the allotments for future housing development.
