News: David Foster - funeral

The death has been announced of David Foster, born in Chilbolton in 1947 at Larkfield, Drove Road.

He met his future wife, Roy, in 1953 when they were both 16, and they were together for 63 years.

David spent most of his life in the motor trade as a Sales Manager, but later in the family joinery business in Winchester.

He was a true “country boy” who loved outdoor life including shooting and fly fishing locally on the River Test. He also spent time at his beach hut in Mudeford where he would go out fishing on his boat.

David passed away on 16 Sep 2026. His funeral will take place at St Mary the Less Church in Chilbolton at 2pm on Monday 19 Oct 2026.
