Diary: Meetings this week about the proposed 25-home development

This is a busy week for Parish meetings. There are three opportunities to find out more about the 25 homes that the Parish Council propose to build.

All the meetings will be held at the Village Hall. There will be an opportunity at each meeting for members of the public to ask questions or offer their own views.

This evening, Monday, at 6pm, the Planning Committee will discuss the Parish Council’s reply to Test Valley’s draft local plan. It follows on from the meeting they held two weeks ago where it was agreed to confirm 25 homes in the draft plan, but not to automatically accept a further 40 homes. (Agenda here).

On Wednesday at 7pm, the Community Development Committee will meet to hear the latest progress from its working groups. They will also be discussing “Village Data Gathering”: this will potentially include future focus groups of people interested in the affordable homes and also the downsize homes. If you are one of these people, it might be worth attending this meeting to find out more (Agenda here).

On Thursday at 6:30pm there will be a public meeting at which there will be a presentation of the Parish Council’s response to TVBC’s draft Local Plan. This draft proposes a build of 65 homes within Chilbolton, compared to the 25 that the Parish Council have planned. In addition to the presentation, there will be an opportunity for villagers to give their feedback. The slides for the presentation will be available on the Parish website before the meeting (Agenda here).

chilbolton.news will, of course, be at all of these meetings.
