Flooding from the development
Clive Harris points up the effect the proposed development would have on rainwater run-off
The proposed development would increase the risk of flooding. Chilbolton is situated at the bottom of a hill, and during heavy rain surface water often flows down through various routes into the village. The hard surfaces that would be built over a large area in the proposed site for the new houses would lead to additional surface water that would then have to flow down into the village. The proposed footpath / cycleway could even become a conduit for such surface water
