Already risky

James Pike-Watson recounts a personal story as an example of how dangerous it can be for vulnerable road users in Chilbolton:
My late mother, who was confined to a wheelchair was once nearly hit by a car on the lower part of Drove Road - the incident was reported to the police and the driver was spoken to at his home address. For disabled people, and for young children, the increased traffic, with no possibility of installing pavements, will be very dangerous and result in more such incidents - in particular for those pedestrians, including wheelchair and pushchair users, travelling from any such new development and upper Chilbolton generally to the village shop, the village pub and Chilbolton Common.
