Drawing from my experience as a Parish Councillor in Ickford, whilst additional homes can be a source of newcomers and help the local economy, the downside is that despite - in the case here - SUDS being provided, the surface water run off caused considerable distress to neighbouring households, and to those living down hill/down stream of the development, further exacerbated by changing global conditions, which in turn made house insurance very difficult and very costly for many
