Traffic hazards

There are many things that increase the various hazards to public safety on the road in and around Chilbolton that are peculiar to Chilbolton. The popularity of the Common and West Down are instances. Any increase in vehicular traffic of the sort likely to result from this planning application is bound to increase and already high level of risk to public safety. It is difficult, if not impossible, to see how those risks could be successfully mitigated. I therefore support the contention of CPC that the proposed development would be likely to result in an unacceptable reduction in highway safety. On this basis alone this application should be refused
