Two shops?

This application plans to build a shop, We already have an excellent shop and Post Office. However, that shop and post office already have difficulty in making a profit, so many residents donate money to the shop owner, in order to keep that business afloat, as we so appreciate the benefit of having that service. How on earth does the applicant think a further shop is required? They would ensure both shops would go bankrupt ! Plus elderly would not wish to walk up a long hill to reach this [proposed] shop
