Pressure on the ecosystem

Claire Skinner identifies the need to care for nature and the pressure that new homes would bring:
The village is uniquely situated around the Cow Common and nature reserve. Both play significant roles in the local ecosystem and are protected areas. Wildlife rely on these areas. To add 75 dwellings to their immediate vicinity could be catastrophic and change these historic environments which generations have sought to protect valiantly. Is it not our moral responsibility to protect these nature rich areas that humans have caused so much irreversible damage to already? The village is already overrun in the summer months by visitors and people parking irresponsibly and leaving rubbish everywhere. Adding 75 dwellings would increase the year round pressure on these spaces and habitats, causing stress on the spaces and the nature that call it home
