News: By-election results: Martin Watson and Neil Connor elected
In the first Parish Council by-election in Chilbolton since 1979, Martin Watson and Neil Connor were elected this evening. Turnout was 34.07%
276 electors voted - 197 in person and there were 79 postal votes.

The count was completed swiftly and efficiently by Test Valley Borough Council’s staff. The Returning Officer, Andy Ferrier who is also Chief Executive of TVBC, announced the result at 10.55pm.
With 176 votes, Martin Watson said “The turnout was fantastic. It shows the Village feels strongly. It is a vindication of the position that the candidates have taken over issues in the Village.”
Coming second with 171 votes, Neil Connor said “I am delighted at the turnout. It’s the legitimacy of having an election, and the public having their say. This gives us a mandate to deliver what the Village is asking for.”
The gallant loser, Duncan Revolta, said “I am very happy to have stood. We all had much the same agendas. I’ll be contributing in other ways, and this isn’t the end.”
