News: Cherish Chilbolton external posters must come down

After discussions with the Test Valley Borough Council’s Enforcement Officer, Cherish Chilbolton now advises residents that any posters that are displayed outside must be taken down.

A Cherish Chilbolton spokesperson said:

Due to what we think is a single complaint, ‘Cherish Chilbolton’ has been contacted by TVBC’s Planning Enforcement Officer regarding the signs that have been put up around the village. Following an initial demand that we remove all signs we have reached a compromise position. A4 signs can be displayed in windows but not attached to fences and gates. A2 and bigger signs need to removed while we consider re-wording them. Signs in public places e.g. on telegraph poles need to be removed. Signs in vehicles (any size) are okay e.g. in cars on drives. We’d be grateful if those with signs would comply.

chilbolton.news understands that TVBC’s Enforcement Officer may be visiting the Village next week to check on levels of compliance with this ruling.
