News: Church Commissioners investigating development site
Church Commissioners are investigating land in the corner of the field near the allotments for future housing development.
Parish Council minutes for the meeting held on 2 Sep 2024 included an email from a housing development officer at Test Valley Borough Council to Tony Ewer and Sue Larcombe indicating that she had been contacted by the charity Housing Justice. In conjunction with the Church Commissioner they have identified a parcel of land at the junction of Martins Lane and Gravel Hill. The potential development could either be all affordable housing or a mixture of affordable and open market housing.
Location of the proposed site
One of Housing Justice’s aims is to “aid churches of all denominations to release surplus land and buildings for affordable housing, enabling the church to directly benefit the community and future generations”
