News: 75-home development: further extension granted

Test Valley Borough Council planners have granted a further extension to James Painter before they consider his proposed 75-home development.

Responding to a query from Chilbolton’s Cllr Debbie Collis, Senior Planning Officer Emma Jones has confirmed that they have agreed an extension with Mr Painter until 12 May 2026.

So far Mr Painter and his advisers have added four new documents to his original application:

• A response to observations made by TVBC’s Ecology team who lodged an objection to the original application
• An analysis of groundwater levels taken from four monitoring wells on the proposed site
• A replacement statutory biodiversity assessment
• A greatly-expanded replacement for the original ecological assessment

Chilbolton Parish Council will have the chance to consider any new material at its meetings on 13 Apr 2026 and 11 May 2026.
