News: Submission date extended for 75-home planning application
Cllr Sue Larcombe this morning confirmed that she has managed to extend the final date for submissions on James Painter’s proposed 75-home development on land near Drove Road.
The original deadline was 4 Dec 2025 for the Parish Council and 12 Dec 2025 for residents. This has now been extended to 12 Jan 2026. This gives the Parish Council another 39 days in which they can refine their comments. Residents have until the “determination deadline”, 11 Feb 2026, to respond.
This welcome news relieves pressure on Councillors and residents. The original deadline seemed very tight.
Two meetings are scheduled to be held at Chilbolton Village Hall:

It may well be that further meetings will be announced.
At last Saturday’s meeting it was announced that the Parish Council would be writing to offer James Painter a chance to address residents and explain the rationale behind his development proposal. The extension gives the Village the opportunity to hear that rationale before submissions close.
The extension will also delay the dates on which TVBC’s Northern Area Planning Committee consider the planning application.
