Updated: Flyers urge residents to attend Local Plan meeting

Last night, as the Parish Council’s Planning Committee discussed their presentation on TVBC’s Local Plan, flyers were being posted around the village urging villagers to attend it.

Framed as a series of questions, including “Is this community led?”, “Do we have to accept 65?” and asking whether the development could be split around the Village, it concludes with “We need your input and opinions - this is your Village - have your say”.

The presentation will cover the response that the Parish Council will make to Test Valley Borough Council’s draft Local Plan which allocates 65 homes to be built on land near Eastman’s Field. It is based on a pre-application for 25 homes made by the Parish Council, and is described as “community led”.

The presentation will take place at the Village Hall at 6:30pm on Thursday 21 Aug 2025.

Update

The Parish Council has also posted information about the meeting around the Village. They describe the meeting as “Your opportunity to review the PC’s response” to the TVBC draft Local Plan. They add that “We would welcome your contributions”.
