News: Cllr Sue Larcombe good as her word

Cllr Sue Larcombe made good on her promise at the last Parish Council meeting. She has withdrawn her registration of interest for a self-build plot in Chilbolton.

At the meeting on 3 Mar 2025, a testy exchange took place between Cllr Larcombe and a member of the public over her declaration of interest made at the beginning of the meeting. The declaration, which she had announced previously, was for one of the proposed self-build plots that CPC are planning.

Confronted with the accusation that “it’s all very smelly”, she said “I will send a letter to TVBC and take my name off the list tomorrow, if that allows me to get on and do things”.

Draft minutes of the meeting confirm that she did indeed email TVBC with a request to withdraw her registration of interest the day after the Council meeting.

Two declarations of interest by Parish Councillors in the planned homes remain. Cllr Julian Hudson declared an interest in a downsize property at the meeting on 3 Feb 2025. Cllr Tony Ewer has for some time declared an interest in both a downsize property and a self-build plot.
