Community Development Committee

Community Development Committee is a sub-committee of Chilbolton Parish Council tasked with bringing forward plans to build 10 “downsize” homes proposed in the Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Chilbolton’s Community Development Committee has announced two meetings which will cover the crucial issues of infrastructure within the Village.

Chilbolton Parish Council’s Community Development Committee will not be meeting this evening. The busy festive period and the ravages of flu have combined in thinning out the ranks of its members.

Progress continues however, and CDC’s Chair, Cllr David Hall, will make a report at the Parish Council meeting on 5 Jan 2026.

The next CDC meeting will be on 21 Jan 2026 at 7pm in the Village Hall.

In a long meeting last night, the Parish Council covered a lot of ground. The most eye-catching item was a proposal to counter the limited traffic survey in James Painter’s planning application, with something more comprehensive.

Chilbolton’s Community Development Committee have met for the first time in three months. They re-elected Cllr David Hall as Chair. They discussed James Painter’s 75-home plan and their own investigations into a 25-home development.

In a surprise move this evening, Parish Councillors have issued a new agenda for their Extraordinary Meeting on Monday. They will discuss the approach for responding to the new 75-home planning application.

Sensationally, Cllr Tony Ewer will be required to recuse himself from that discussion.

The public will no longer be excluded, and the meeting includes an item for public questions and comments.
