After some shaky moments in previous meetings, Chilbolton Parish Councillors last night had set aside their differences and found themselves in a new and carefully choreographed agreement.

The build-up to the Parish Council meeting on Monday 7 Apr 2025 at 6:30pm couldn’t have been more dramatic. That Saturday morning back in February where the Village was told that the planning pre-application had been paused. The tense exchanges at the last CPC meeting. The Chilbolton Parish Council meeting last night was a tense affair marked by disagreements between councillors, a vote, and sharp exchanges between the Chair and villagers who had attended the meeting. At the heart of the disagreements was the governance of its plans to build 25 new homes in the village.

Chilbolton Parish Council (CPC) have sent pre-application documents to Test Valley Borough Council to open discussions on their proposed 25-home development near Eastman’s Field.

Tony Ewer, Chair of Chilbolton Parish Council (CPC), has promised greater transparency in material from the Strategy Working Group (SWG). Reports that had been made to Parish Council meetings would be added to the SWG’s new page online. He also proposed topic-based discussion groups on the proposed housing development in the Village Hall.
