Reports on Chilbolton Parish Council meetings from January 2025 onwards.

In an announcement at Chilbolton’s Annual Parish meeting, Cllr Tony Ewer said that he would be stepping aside as Chair due to “too many health problems”.

The last two open meetings the Parish Council held were widely praised for their openness and free-flowing nature. Last night, surprisingly, a return to a presentation-style format with a solid agenda proved even more successful and productive.

After some shaky moments in previous meetings, Chilbolton Parish Councillors last night had set aside their differences and found themselves in a new and carefully choreographed agreement.

The build-up to the Parish Council meeting on Monday 7 Apr 2025 at 6:30pm couldn’t have been more dramatic. That Saturday morning back in February where the Village was told that the planning pre-application had been paused. The tense exchanges at the last CPC meeting. Cllr Sue Larcombe made good on her promise at the last Parish Council meeting. She has withdrawn her registration of interest for a self-build plot in Chilbolton.
