TVBC Local Plan

In June 2025, Test Valley Borough Council began the process of creating a new Local Plan. Allocating 11,000 new homes for development in 35 locations across the borough, consultation on the proposals opened that month. 65 homes were allocated for development in Chilbolton.

At a well-attended and well-run meeting, Chilbolton Parish Council’s Planning Committee began the process of preparing their response to Test Valley Borough Council’s draft plan consultation. The plan allocates 65 homes to be built in Chilbolton.

chilbolton.news attended TVBC’s Exhibition on their Local Plan at Barton Stacey Village Hall on Monday. It comprised a series of charts and documentation on notice boards, together with maps laid out on tables.

Helpful and knowledgable staff were on hand to answer questions.

Having advised Chilbolton residents on how they can make a comment on TVBC’s plan to build 65 homes in the village between 2025 and 2042, the Parish Council have now mapped out the process for creating their own response to the proposals.

At an Extraordinary Council meeting on Wednesday, Test Valley Borough councillors approved a draft consultation plan that lists 65 new homes to be built in Chilbolton. The plan says “A community led housing allocation of approximately 65 dwellings is proposed at land to the north east of Drove Road, Chilbolton.”
