News: "Cherish Chilbolton" leaflets the Village

New action group “Cherish Chilbolton” has dropped leaflets in every letterbox in the Village.

Headed “No to the Painter Family over-development of Chilbolton”, the leaflet “seeks to point out the harm that a development of this scale will do to our cherished village.”

It challenges points made in a leaflet delivered to all homes in Chilbolton earlier this week, extolling the benefits of James Painter’s proposed 75-home development.

It questions why a surgery and a shop/cafe are needed and says there will be a “huge increase in traffic passing through the single lane roads.”

It also warns that “A developer who believes that 75 homes can be justified is unlikely to stop at ‘only’ 75 houses.”

Cherish Chilbolton also have a Facebook group which is open to residents of Chilbolton.
