In a long meeting last night, the Parish Council covered a lot of ground. The most eye-catching item was a proposal to counter the limited traffic survey in James Painter’s planning application, with something more comprehensive.

“It started at that meeting last December: their ‘vision’ was more of a nightmare.”

It’s a story we’ve heard before, but in this case it led Nicola Revolta to become a member of the action group “Cherish Chilbolton”.

Another well-attended meeting at the Village Hall this morning set villagers to work to help form the Parish Council’s response to James Painter’s 75 home proposal.

The second of three meetings to discuss the outline planning application for 75 new homes will take place at Chilbolton Village Hall tomorrow, Saturday 29 Nov 2025 at 10am.

Cllr Sue Larcombe this morning confirmed that she has managed to extend the final date for submissions on James Painter’s proposed 75-home development on land near Drove Road.

The original deadline was 4 Dec 2025 for the Parish Council and 12 Dec 2025 for residents. This has now been extended to 12 Jan 2026. This gives the Parish Council another 39 days in which they can refine their comments. Residents have until the “determination deadline”, 11 Feb 2026, to respond.
