At the Parish Council Meeting last Monday, residents of Chilbolton were invited to consider the question “Are we reasonable?”

Last night’s Parish Council meeting was dominated by thirteen recommendations from Locum Clerk, Tom Brindley. The topics ranged from shutting down Community Development Committee meetings to buying new accounting software, including an “Allotment module”,

For at least a decade, and according to one former Parish Councillor, longer than that, two agenda items have graced the bottom of every Council meeting agenda: “Correspondence” and “Questions from the Public”.

At next Monday’s meeting, that tradition ends.

At a public meeting last night, Martin Gossling, Chair of Chilbolton Community Land Trust, and his fellow Board trustees gave a presentation on the progress they have made since the inaugural Annual General Meeting in May.

Three traffic monitoring devices have been installed in Chilbolton. The reason for them being there is, as yet, unclear.
