New action group “Cherish Chilbolton” has dropped leaflets in every letterbox in the Village.

Headed “No to the Painter Family over-development of Chilbolton”, the leaflet “seeks to point out the harm that a development of this scale will do to our cherished village.”

Chilbolton’s Community Development Committee have met for the first time in three months. They re-elected Cllr David Hall as Chair. They discussed James Painter’s 75-home plan and their own investigations into a 25-home development.

Chilbolton Parish Council has set the dates for three public meetings to discuss James Painter’s outline planning proposal for 75 homes in the Village.

The first meeting will be held at 10am on Saturday 22 November in the Village Hall.

Leaflets advertising the meetings will be circulated to all homes in Chilbolton.

What’s being proposed would be the largest single development of houses in Chilbolton ever. It would increase the number of houses by over 16%, and would bring a further 245 people as residents of the Village.
