News: CPC publishes visualisation of Gravel Hill site
Chilbolton Parish Council has published a visualisation of their proposal for up to 20-homes to be developed at Gravel Hill.
This comes ahead of their planned public meeting on 27 Jun 2026 at the Village Hall.
The site location is at the corner of Martins Lane and Gravel Hill, but the entrance to the development would be 107 metres along Gravel Hill. The site is about 1.1 hectares which the plan says includes 0.7 hectares of developable land, with further public open space.

There are nineteen homes depicted. They comprise:
- Three homes with one parking space
- Eleven homes with two parking spaces
- Five homes with eight parking spaces between them
- Four visitor parking spaces
Chilbolton Neighbourhood Development Plan policy HD5 specifies two parking spaces for each one-bedroom home and three parking spaces for two- and three-bedroom homes.

Other features include:
- A landscaped amenity open space
- A biodiversity net gain landscaped space
- An improved junction layout at the corner of Martins Lane and Gravel Hill
- Pedestrian access at a point 80 metres up Martins Lane
No location is specified in the visualisation for a local sewage treatment pack which might imply connection from the site to mains sewerage.
The entrance to the site is located some 107 metres from the junction. The junction itself would be modified to improve safety.

Entrance would be near the safety mirror pictured
The pedestrian exit planned into Martins Lane may be connected to a new footpath. Parish Councillors have already identified “some potential to put a permissive footpath to the south of Paddock Field”, which they said could be “[tied] to any discussions with the Church Commissioners regarding the potential Gravel Hill development, as this will provide leverage.”
