News: Chilbolton Church Fete tomorrow

With good weather forecast, the scene is set for the Chilbolton Church Fete tomorrow.

Running from 12:30 to 3:30pm, the Fete this year is hosted for the first time at Upcote, at the bottom of Drove Road.

Owned by Duncan and Nicola Revolta, this offers one of the largest gardens in Chilbolton, and was highly-praised at last week’s Open Gardens.

The Fete features plenty to eat and drink with a barbecue, beer and Pimms tent, tea and cakes and ice cream.

The ever-popular bottle tombola returns and there will be a grand draw offering desirable prizes. There will be games and activities for all the family.

Fun Dog Show

One of the best-attended venues at the Fete is the Fun Dog show ring. As usual there are six classes:

• 1:30pm Most handsome dog
• 1:45pm Prettiest bitch
• 2:00pm Dog with the waggiest tail
• 2:15pm Dog most like its owner
• 2:30pm Cutest puppy
• 2:45pm Best denarian - dogs over ten years old

Parking

There will be a limited number of parking spaces at Upcote for Blue Badge holders only, and a drop-off point for those with mobility issues.

General parking will be available at Chilbolton Village Hall in Eastman’s Field, SO2O 6AT.

Volunteers needed

The Fete needs volunteer help. Could you assist as a field marshall? Help is needed at:

• Friday 19th at 5:00pm Erecting gazebos, moving tables and chairs
• Saturday 20th at 9:00am Help stallholders with setup
• Saturday 20th at 3:30PM Clear the Fete site
