News: Southern Water hosepipe ban announced

Southern Water have this morning announced that starting from 9am on Monday 21 Jul 2025 there will be a hosepipe ban. Customers on their Priority Services Register with medical or mobility needs including Blue Badge holders, and those on their WaterSure tariff are exempt.

Comment: Code of Conduct questions

The last Parish council meeting alarmed several of those who attended. The “ambush” proposal to change the CDC’s terms of reference and the question of whether the SWG had evaluated Gravel Hill as a potential housing site both generated heated discussion.

The space of a few days to reflect on what happened has raised the question of how the meeting was conducted. Did the discussion and vote which resulted in Cllr David Hall resigning as Chair of CDC take place in accordance with the Parish Council’s newly adopted Code of Conduct?

News: How CPC will prepare its response to TVBC's housing consultation

Having advised Chilbolton residents on how they can make a comment on TVBC’s plan to build 65 homes in the village between 2025 and 2042, the Parish Council have now mapped out the process for creating their own response to the proposals.

Updated: CDC in turmoil after terms of reference changed

8 Jul 2025

The illusion that Chilbolton had successfully established a Community Development Committee, that would oversee the planning and building of new homes in the village, was blown apart yesterday evening at the Parish Council meeting.

After the terms of reference for CDC were materially changed in a split Parish Council vote, Cllr David Hall said that he would have to resign as CDC’s Chair.
