Diary: Parish Council adds extra meeting
Chilbolton Parish Council have added an extra meeting to their diary. They will hold it at the Village Hall on Monday 3 Aug 2026 at 6pm.
The meeting is not likely to be long - the agenda is brief. It has been arranged so that Councillors can discuss new planning applications.
In particular a draft response will be considered for an application at the upper end of Drove Road described as a “self-build replacement dwelling and annexe with garage and storage outbuilding, installation of package treatment plant and construction of vehicular access.”
There will, as usual, be a chance for members of the public to ask questions and raise issues.
It is possible, too that Councillors might wish to discuss other planning-related matters. Since their last meeting, quite a lot has happened:
- At its AGM, CCLT discussed changing their terms of reference to limit the number of Parish Councillors on their Board of Trustees
- Hampshire County Council’s Highway Authority provided supplementary comments on the 75 home proposal - the Parish Council will contest this assessment with Test Valley Borough Council
- TVBC abandoned its Local Plan and its allocation of 65 homes to Chilbolton
- James Painter commissioned his planners to produce an “independent” report on CPC’s Gravel Hill proposal
- Mr Painter also circulated a document critical of Gravel Hill which Cllr David Hall said contained “inaccuracies and mistaken claims”
chilbolton.news will, of course, be at the Parish Council meeting, ready to bring you the latest news.
