The Community Development Committee yesterday reported that the new development site analysis is well underway.

Chilbolton Parish Council has scheduled a fourth meeting this week, with a proposal that the public should be excluded because “sensitive information regarding planning matters” will be discussed.

At the Parish Council’s Planning Meeting last night, Cllr Tony Ewer revealed that Church Commissioners are investigating their land around Chilbolton for possible development. In particular, he referred to what he called the “Paddock Field site” - a field which could accommodate 350 homes.

At a well-attended Planning Committee meeting last night, Councillors and residents together agreed to confirm 25 homes in TVBC’s draft Local Plan. However they decided not to automatically accept a further 40 homes, because there was as yet no proven housing need.
