The Board of Chilbolton Community Land Trust have agreed in principle how they will co-operate with Chilbolton Parish Council in working with potential landowners and with Test Valley Borough Council.

They discussed a model for that co-operation, and how it might develop, as options for building affordable homes become clearer.

Chilbolton Parish Council will be raising a further objection to the proposed 75-home development, citing the Science and Technology Facilities Council concerns on its impact on Chilbolton Observatory.

The new objection is based on the National Planning Policy Framework clause which protects operational defence and security sites.

It’s one week to go before Chilbolton Open Gardens 2026. There are 11 gardens being opened, including three that have never been opened before. St Mary the Less Church will be hosting the skills of the Village’s talented flower-arrangers.

The Northern Area Planning Committee agreed to “bolster” a planning condition to protect wildlife at the Test Valley Farm 5-home development.

Earlier in the day, planning officers also approved five other conditions, including the controversial construction traffic route to the TVF site

In one of the longest Parish Council meetings for some time, the role of the Chilbolton Community Land Trust (CCLT) featured several times.

Cllr Tony Ewer and Martin Gossling, Chair of CCLT, were both concerned that CCLT was being limited or ignored.
