Reminder: Extraordinary Meeting

We’ve been alerted to the possibility that some residents may not know about the Parish Council’s Extraordinary Meeting on Saturday. It’s at 10am in the Village Hall, and the main item on the agenda is for the Parish Council to agree their response to James Painter’s 75-home planning application.

Parish Council schedules meeting on the 75-home development

Chilbolton Parish Council has scheduled an Extraordinary Meeting on Saturday 3 Jan 2026 at 10am in the Village Hall. This will be a formal Parish Council meeting whose main business is to agree the CPC response to the proposed 75-home development.

Observatory lodges objection to 75-home development

The Science and Technology Facility Council’s Chilbolton Observatory has lodged an objection to the planned 75-home development. It says that “As drawn, the proposals do give the Observatory operators serious concerns and represent a threat to the ongoing viability of the site.”

Diary: CDC meeting cancelled

17 Dec 2025

Chilbolton Parish Council’s Community Development Committee will not be meeting this evening. The busy festive period and the ravages of flu have combined in thinning out the ranks of its members.

Progress continues however, and CDC’s Chair, Cllr David Hall, will make a report at the Parish Council meeting on 5 Jan 2026.

The next CDC meeting will be on 21 Jan 2026 at 7pm in the Village Hall.

Cherish Chilbolton external posters must come down

After discussions with the Test Valley Borough Council’s Enforcement Officer, Cherish Chilbolton now advises residents that any posters that are displayed outside must be taken down.
